Kitchen remodeling cost guide

Understand where the kitchen budget goes.

Cabinetry, layout changes, utilities, surfaces and appliances work as one system. The budget should reflect the complete scope—not a collection of disconnected allowances.

Planning context

Price follows scope and selections.

HOM Design & Build’s publicly displayed typical project range is $10,000–$150,000 across its remodeling work. A kitchen’s position within that range depends heavily on whether the footprint remains, the cabinetry level, utility changes, countertop quantity, lighting, flooring and existing conditions. A site review and defined plan are required for a project-specific estimate.

What shapes the plan

Three decisions to resolve early.

01

Cabinetry and storage

Cabinet construction, door style, organization, panels, trim and installation commonly represent a major part of the kitchen scope.

02

Layout and utilities

Moving appliances, plumbing, walls or electrical service adds design coordination and work behind the finishes.

03

Surfaces and details

Countertops, backsplash, flooring, lighting, hardware and finish carpentry determine how complete the room feels.

Common questions

Clear answers without false promises.

What is usually the largest kitchen cost?+

Cabinetry is often a major cost, but layout changes, structural work, utility relocations, appliances and finish selections can also substantially affect the total.

Can keeping the existing layout reduce cost?+

Often, because it may limit plumbing, electrical, framing and flooring changes. The existing layout still needs to support the homeowner’s goals.

Do you provide 3D kitchen planning?+

Yes. 3D visualization can help confirm cabinetry, proportions, circulation and finish direction before orders and construction.
