Your project, before the first appointment.

Northern Virginia service availability depends on the location, scope and schedule. A mailing city does not always identify the permitting authority.
Your HOM planning brief
Bathroom remodeling
Plan demolition, subfloor repairs, plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, tile, glass and fixtures as one scope. Keeping the layout can reduce relocation work; concealed conditions still need review.
Layout: Keep the general layout
Target start: Still researching
Jurisdiction: To be confirmed

Budget guidance
Protect the scope before choosing upgrades.
Enter a working budget to explore how a reserve changes the amount available for planned work. If you do not know your budget, start by separating must-haves from optional upgrades.
HOM’s published overall project range is $10,000–$150,000, covering different kinds of work. It is not a price range for this selected project. A written estimate follows scope and site review.

The decisions that set your schedule.
- Measure and define the layout
- Confirm selections, permits and delivery dates
- Demolition, repairs and rough-ins
- Waterproofing, flood test and required inspections
- Tile, fixtures, glass and closeout
Share any fixed deadline, travel dates and rooms that must remain usable so HOM can assess a realistic schedule. Actual construction duration and start date require site review, approved scope, permit review, product lead times and crew availability.
Permit considerations
Confirm the property and the work.
Discuss building and trade permits for the specific plumbing, electrical, ventilation and structural work. Do not assume a same-layout bathroom is exempt.
HOM coordinates applicable permits and inspections within the agreed scope. Association approvals are a separate check. This guide does not decide whether your individual project requires a permit.

What have you already selected?
Mark items you have chosen for discussion. Keep model numbers and samples; selections still need a compatibility and quantity review.
Check warranty, lead time and who supplies each item before purchasing. Selection guidance can include HOM’s preferred ProSource of Metro DC showroom in Alexandria; no exclusive affiliation is implied.
